VIRTUAL REALITY CELLSCAPE EXPERIENCE

As early as the 3rd century BC, scientists dedicated their lives to understand our innermost workings. But, thanks to virtual reality, you don’t need to be a scientist to discover how the body works on the cellular level. XVIVO Scientific Animation and YouTube educator, Tyler DeWitt coupled with a generous grant from Google Making & Science Team have created Cellscape: an immersive, educational 3D virtual reality tour that takes a look inside a human cell.

What Interactive Medical Media Is

Interactive medical media allows users to explore scientific content actively rather than passively watching a linear video. Viewers can click, rotate, zoom, or navigate through information at their own pace, creating a more personalized and engaging learning experience. These experiences can also incorporate elements like exploration, challenges, scoring, and game-based interactions, helping reinforce learning through active participation. By allowing users to interact visually with scientific content, they tap into our natural preference for visual and spatial understanding, making these experiences especially memorable.

How Interactive Differs from Linear Video

Unlike traditional animation, interactive experiences are designed for exploration. They enable deeper dives into specific areas of interest, making them especially useful when audiences have varied levels of scientific knowledge or different learning goals.

Where Interactive Media Is Most Effective

Interactive media is often used for product education, training, scientific platforms, patient education tools, conferences, trade show booths, museums, and digital experiences where engagement and retention are the goal. These tools are well suited for web platforms, touchscreens, sales environments, and educational settings.
