The Dynama System is an investigational device designed to relieve elevated left atrial pressure in patients with heart failure by creating a shunt in the interatrial septum — without a permanent implant and without heat or energy. For boatBurner and InterShunt, we created a mechanism-of-action animation that walks physicians through the full procedure, from vascular access to shunt creation.
The one-minute animation opens with the problem: elevated left atrial pressure, a key driver of the shortness of breath, weakness, and fatigue that heart failure patients live with. It then introduces the Dynama System as a novel device designed to relieve that pressure, following the catheter from femoral access through the venous system and into the heart as the capture mechanism deploys, engages septal tissue, and is designed to cut a clean, consistent opening. The animation closes on the shunt itself, designed to off-load left atrial pressure, with visual fidelity and clear storytelling that make the therapy easy to see, understand, and remember.
