Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) Animation

XVIVO and Korro Bio continued their partnership to create an animation for Korro’s RNA editing oligonucleotide candidate for alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) from their proprietary OPERA™ platform.

The purpose of the animation was to illustrate the unmet need for AATD patients, the role of the protein AAT in the disease, and the promise of Korro’s RNA editing candidate.

With this scientific story, there was an opportunity to dive deeper into the specifics of how Korro’s technology could be applied to a particular disease and protein. It allowed for further exploration into molecular, cellular, and systemic processes, and the significant impact that adjusting one nucleotide can have throughout the body.

Dedication and meticulous detail were employed through each step of the process including the script, research, storyboard, look development, animation and editing phases. From sourcing proteins structures to determining color and lighting, each choice was carefully considered to enhance the message and connect with the audience.

Korro Bio’s Senior Director of Platform Technology, Chris Brown said, “Having these animations will really help the general public. It will help investors as they come and look at the website. It will help prospective employees that are looking for positions to understand what we’re doing here at Korro”.

We are excited to see the AAT animation come to life, and we are proud of our collaboration with Korro Bio. For more examples of XVIVO & Korro’s partnership visit: Revolutionizing RNA Editing Awareness: XVIVO’s Medical Animation for Korro Bio
