For the launch of their booth at ISCT 2025 in New Orleans, and the debut of their new website, VitaCyte partnered with XVIVO to create a two-minute medical animation that details the science of cell recovery.
In partnership with Forma Therapeutics, XVIVO developed an immersive animation that takes viewers on a gamified, cinematic journey into the science of sickle cell disease. This piece combines realistic 3D visuals with high-concept storytelling to create an engaging educational experience.
The interactive, game-like narrative immerses viewers in the complexities of the disease, highlighting the stakes while presenting Forma’s mission. The animation inspires a call to action for learning more about sickle cell disease, making it both impactful and memorable.
The Inner Life of the Cell medical animation was created to help educate college students and, along the way, ended up giving XVIVO an orbital boost. Since its development in 2006, the animation has been used worldwide by educators, scientists, and news outlets to help explain the inner life of a cell and inspired other animators and researchers in their own works.
Working closely with the Hemanext team, we crafted medical animations to elucidate the science behind oxidative damage in stored blood. To leverage the visuals for multiple communication needs, the content was broken into chapters.
